Permian Chapter Raises $116k Through Golf Tournament!

The Permian Chapter of Credit Unions hosted a charity golf tournament and raffle benefiting local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals on Sept. 19, 2022 in Odessa, Texas. All told, the events raised $116,000 for CMN Hospitals.

Chapter credit unions sold raffle tickets for a Dallas Cowboys VIP suite package donated by SWBC. At $10 per ticket, the raffle raised $61,000 for local CMN Hospitals. 

“All the funds will stay right here in the Permian Basin, where over 23,000 children receive care from Medical Center Health System each year,” said Lezlie Veach, chief lending officer at My Community Credit Union. “The money we raised will go toward the purchase of life-saving equipment, education for clinical staff, awareness programs benefiting hospitalized children, and charitable care for pediatric patients.”

The Permian Chapter goal was $100,000. But with the money raised from tournament sponsors and players, credit union donations, and raffle ticket sales, the chapter exceeded its goal, Veach said.

On Oct. 25, the chapter hosted a celebration at a restaurant in Odessa and presented CMN Hospitals representatives a check for over $116,000, which included a $10,000 Miracle Match from Co-op Solutions, she said.

“Our Permian Chapter of Credit Unions has been raising money for Children’s Miracle Network since 1998,” Veach said. “Since 1998, PCCU has raised $964,228 for CMN at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.”
