NorthRidge Community CU Buys Blizzards for Kids!
NorthRidge Community Credit Union found a very COOL way to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. On July 25th, Dairy Queen hosted their annual Miracle Treat Day. On this day, DQ donates at least $1 for any customer that purchases a blizzard.
Northridge Community found a way to jump in the fun: they pre-purchased blizzard vouchers and stood in front of DQ locations and handed them out to the community. This made the day for many pleasantly surprised community members and also elevated the funds that were raised for kids in need.
Nicholas Mathiowetz, CEO of NorthRidge says, “Our staff at NorthRidge is honored to be part of Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day. We believe that the Children’s Miracle Network and Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare are amazing organizations. What they are able to do for children in need is incredible and we are proud to show our support.”
It was also a great win for the customer because DQ only makes the donation for a blizzard purchased on that particular day. Because NorthRidge bought the vouchers on the right day, it allowed the customer to come back another day if they so wished.
“It’s hard to beat enjoying an amazing Blizzard to help kids in need,” says Nick Coleman, Director of Strategic Partnerships at CMN Hospitals. “NorthRidge found a very innovative- and fun- way to help our efforts in raising meaningful funds that will make a real impact for millions of kids treated each year.”
NorthRidge Community Credit Union is located in Virginia, MN but serves members in Hoyt Lakes, Hibbing, Ely, and Bibwabik. They have $45m in assets and 5,000 members.
