The Credit Unions for Kids Cornhole Tournament was a great success!

On Sunday September 22nd, around 200 Credit Unions for Kids supporters came out to play an exciting game of cornhole and support OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The inaugural Credit Union for Kids Cornhole Tournament faced a rainy afternoon, but that didn’t stop players from enjoying the day and raising funds at the same time!

This year’s event raised more than $277,000 to support children and their families who travel long distances to seek treatment at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and provide a place for them to stay at the Gary & Christine Rood Family Pavilion. The generosity of the event attendees has ensured that families can focus on healing together and not on the logistics and financial burden that comes with traveling to seek care for a sick child.

Congratulations to the tournament winners from Tyfone, #theredshoecrewtoo, who brought home the winning trophy and played a close game against the Columbia CU Ringers. Both teams endured a downpour of rain in the final minutes of the game!

The evening was a testament to what can happen when our community bands together for one great cause and what the Credit Union family can accomplish when presented with a big goal. From all of us at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and the Rood Family Pavilion, thank you for your support.
