Sugar and Spurs Raises over $46k!
Oklahoma’s Credit Union (OKCU) successfully raised $46,300 in 2022 to benefit the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Foundation (OCHF). Funds were generated from the Sugar & Spurs annual fundraiser and included donations from local businesses, corporate sponsorships and a $10,000 matching donation from CO-OP Solutions’ Miracle Match program.
The 11th annual Sugar & Spurs fundraiser was held at Embassy Suites in Oklahoma City on Thursday, April 28th. The event featured live music from local band Wood Willow, a photo booth, barbecue and sweets. Attendees entered to win raffle prizes and placed their bids in a virtual auction. Raffle and auction items were generously donated by local businesses and the staff of OKCU. “We are thrilled to have raised over $46,000 for Oklahoma’s kids. It’s always a joy to see our community come together to support an important cause. I’m proud of our staff for making Sugar & Spurs a success for the 11th year in a row!” said Luann Schmiedel, President/CEO.
Donations to OCHF fund research and treatment of pediatric illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, heart and muscular diseases, birth defects and cystic fibrosis. Regardless of the family’s ability to pay, no child is ever turned away from Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. Oklahoma Children’s Hospital serves children in all 77 counties including patients from out of state.
