PSECU Goes to Bat for #CMNHershey!

PSECU continues its annual baseball-centered sponsorship of Children’s Miracle Network during the 2019 Minor League Baseball season. Throughout the summer, PSECU will host Children’s Miracle Network families at seven games in Central and Southcentral Pennsylvania and raise funds for the cause.

Through the credit union’s unique sponsorship in conjunction with Minor League Baseball, Children’s Miracle Network families receive a full baseball experience, including complimentary entrance tickets and pre-game opportunities like stadium tours and participation in the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Additionally, commemorative jersey and memorabilia auctions at select games allow PSECU to donate more than $18,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network.

“Community is important to us at PSECU. As a financial cooperative, we’re a community ourselves – a community of 450,000 credit union member-owners who’ve come together with the aim of helping each other achieve better financial lives,” said PSECU President George Rudolph. “Following the credit union philosophy, we are ‘people helping people,’ and that promise doesn’t stop with our membership, either. We want to improve the health, vibrancy, and vitality of all the communities we serve so everyone can benefit—members and non-members alike. Our partnership with Minor League Baseball supporting the Children’s Miracle Network is just one example of the many ways we strive to accomplish that important goal.”

Minor League Baseball games in PSECU’s 2019 Children’s Miracle Network sponsorship lineup include:

  • April 26: Lancaster Barnstormers, Clipper Magazine Stadium, Lancaster
  • May 25: Harrisburg Senators, FNB Field, Harrisburg
  • June 22: York Revolution, PeoplesBank Park, York
  • July 23: York Revolution, PeoplesBank Park, York

More than 10 million kids enter a children’s hospital across North America every year. To provide the best care for kids, children’s hospitals rely on donations and community support, as Medicaid and insurance programs do not fully cover the cost of care. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has helped fill those funding gaps by raising more than $5 billion, most of it $1 at a time through Miracle Balloon icon campaigns. Its various fundraising partners and programs support the nonprofit’s mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. “Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is very grateful for the wonderful support we receive from credit unions all across the country, like PSECU. They continue to prove the ‘people helping people’ philosophy by raising funds to help save kids’ lives,” said John Lauck, President and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Sixty-two children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for treatment every day, and we would not be successful in helping those kids without the dedicated PSECU community.”

“We thank Minor League Baseball for their ongoing collaboration and the Children’s Miracle Network for providing the best care for children in our communities,” added Rudolph. “We encourage everyone to join us at the ballfield to support the cause.”
