OKCU Sets New Fundraising Record!

Oklahoma’s Credit Union shatters fundraising goal for Oklahoma’s kids

Oklahoma’s Credit Union (OKCU) had a record breaking year and successfully raised $49,789 in 2020 to benefit the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Foundation (OCHF). Funds were generated from the Sugar & Spurs annual fundraiser, donations from local credit unions and corporate sponsorships including a $10,000 matching donation from the CO-OP Financial Services ‘Miracle Match’ program.

The 9th annual Sugar & Spurs fundraiser transformed into a first-time virtual auction due to social distancing measures during the COVID-19 Pandemic. OKCU’s seven-day digital auction attracted 1,681 website users who could bid on 22 baskets generously donated from local businesses.

“The new format for Sugar & Spurs had a learning curve but we were determined to support The Oklahoma Children’s Hospital Foundation with our time and resources. I’m so proud of our staff for pulling together during these challenging times to support such an important cause,” said Mark Kelly, President/CEO.

Donations to OCHF fund research and treatment of pediatric illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, heart and muscular diseases, birth defects and cystic fibrosis. Regardless of the family’s ability to pay, no child is ever turned away from Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. Oklahoma Children’s Hospital serves children in all 77 counties including patients from out of state.

Oklahoma’s Credit Union has been happy to help Oklahomans for over 65 years. Currently OKCU helps over 46,000 members across the state of Oklahoma do more with their money. Benefits of membership include low or no fees on services, higher rates on deposits, and low rates on home or auto loans.
