#ChildrensHospitalsWeek Raises $56,000

Children’s Miracle Network Hershey’s #ChildrensHospitalsWeek raised $56,000 for Penn State Children’s Hospital. Gifts will specifically support the hospital’s patient assistance fund, which supports families who face financial struggles that are compounded by their child’s illness or injury. The fund provides food boxes, gas vouchers, travel accommodations, medication support, medical devices and more.

“The need for this fund is growing in light of COVID-19 as more families face financial challenges,” shared Danielle Sunday, director of Children’s Miracle Network. “We’re so grateful for a community that continues to rally around our kids, even during uncertain times.”

Supporters made gifts online and through a mail appeal. Members 1st Federal Credit Union matched donations up to $10,000. To help raise awareness, pediatric patients, individuals and celebrities posted on social media photos of themselves wearing band-aids in honor of sick and injured kids.

#ChildrensHospitalsWeek is celebrated by all 170 CMN Hospitals in the United States and Canada.
