Baltimore Area Credit Unions Host Ugly Sweater Contest Benefiting CMN Hospitals

There was the good, the bad and the just plain ugly at Tuesday night’s recent MD/DC Credit Union Association Baltimore Chapter meeting.

Chapter members traded their professional attire for tacky tops decorated with sparkly Santas, snowmen in shades and decked out with tassels, pom-poms, gaudy garland — and a wine bottle – a real “vintage” sweater.

It was all for a good cause. Attendees made a donation each time they voted for the top tackiest sweater, raising $315 for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. The chapter also presented a $500 check to the hospital from the annual Bull, Oyster and Shrimp Feast held last month.

“We have had the honor of making a donation to John Hopkins Children’s Center for many years obtained from the profit from our yearly Bull, Oyster, and Shrimp Feast. Having the Ugly Sweater Contest at our meeting was fun for everyone but also for an awesome cause,” says Janet Oursler, President, Baltimore Chapter of MDDCCUA.

Johns Hopkins Children’s Center is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, credit unions’ charity of choice and supported nationally through Credit Unions for Kids.
